Here's a scary thought, when you think of teleportation, you think of the act of being transported instantly over great distances, right? Well, the thing is you can never truly "Teleport" somewhere. Your body has to be completely destroyed, and recreated perfectly at the other location. Technically, this could therefore clone you as well. Here's the good part though. So, when you teleport, you're essentially cloned. Now, is the you that came out of the other teleporter the you that went in to the one before?
Now, before you answer that, think about this. We don't know what happens when we die, however can we be sure if we are recreated, it is the same you that is currently reading this?
What about your memories? Because if you could answer yes to the previous question, that means you would probably believe in reincarnation. Which albeit is neither proven or disproven at this point as we can't exactly ask people what it's like to die, or what happens. So, if you consider this possible, why do we not remember previous lifetimes? And I don't mean the people who say that you were this or that in another lifetime. True reincarnation would be the possibility of you being reborn as something else. Even a slug. Now before that becomes the thing to talk about and we get in to talk about the 4th dimension and what not, back to the subject.
Time travel, and traveling through space like in shows such as Doctor Who, is not what I'm talking about. Materializing in a random spot at a time and place, that's not it. What I'm talking about is like in star trek. My main question as well, would you do it?
